How to use DCB Requesting for Libraries
Step 1: Log into the DCB Requesting app
1. Open a browser and navigate to
https://mobius.kihosting.net/dcb-admin-for-libraries/
2. Login in with your staff credentials

Step 2:Find the Material the Patron Wants
Simple search (the default) allows for the following searches
- Keyword: (title, author, subject, publication info, identifiers, notes, call number)
- Title
- Author
- ISSN
- ISBN
- Subject
- Language
- Publisher
- Format
- Cluster Record ID: If you find the record of the material the patron wants in the OpenRS catalog, the cluster record id is in the URL:
https://openrs.searchmobius.org/instances/5dcbb66a-c10d-4eae-91cf-530a5a5ba9d6
Advanced search allows for searching by multiple fields (all of the above), plus Boolean AND, OR, and NOT searching
Step 3: Can theMaterial Be Requested?

- NO

- YES!!
Click on PLACE REQUEST

Step 4:Verify the Patron
1. Make sure “Place a staff request” is selected and click CONTINUE

2. Make sure your library appears in the “Affiliated institution field”
3. Enter the patron’s barcode and click on VALIDATE PATRON

4. If the patron is successfully validated, you will get a pop-up that says so

Step 5: Request the Item
1. Enter a pickup location for the patron

2. Choose a selection type

Most of the time, you will use Automatic. Use Manual to request a specific item (SEE BELOW)
3. Enter a note, if desired

4. Click on SUBMIT

If the request is successful, you’ll get the following pop-up

5. Scroll back up to the top of the page and click REQUESTING in the upper left hand corner to be taken to the main page:

Using Manual to Request a Specific Item
You can use the “Manual” selection when requesting to request a specific item, as long as you know the library that will be filling the request.
1. After validating the patron, enter your pickup location and select Manual

2. Select the lending library

3. Click on Item local ID. DCB Requesting will display a list of the (one or more) Items available for request

4. Select the item and click SUBMIT
