¶ Sample Workflow Doc: Adding and Removing Items from Course Reserve
Below is a sample of workflow documentation for adding and removing items from Course Reserves (from WWU)
- Unsuppress items from discovery while active on Reserve
- Suppress items from discovery while not active on Reserve
1. Open the Courses app.
2. Does the course already exist in the Courses list?

- Click on the course
- Go to Actions > Edit to update the course information and term (usually current semester; WWU if ongoing)
- If adding instructor, use the "Look up user" button (do not type the name)
- Add item:

- Actions > New
- Course name = on form
- Department = ask if unsure
- Course code = on form
- Course type = on form
- Term = usually current semester (WWU if ongoing)
- Location = Course Reserves
- Save
- Click on the course
- To add instructor, use the "Look up user" button (do not type the name)
- Add item:

3. Does the item already exist in Inventory?

- Scan barcode
- Edit item
- Temporary location = Course Reserves
- Temporary loan type = on form
- Processing status = ready
- Open the Inventory app
- Click on the Item tab
- Change the dropdown to barcode
- Enter the item barcode
- Close the item record to see the instance
- Actions > Edit instance
- Suppress from discovery = uncheck
- Save

- Add fast add item
- Suppress from discovery = uncheck
- Instance status = uncataloged
- *Resource title = on item (include edition)
- Publication date = on item
- ISBN = on item (for book)
- *Resource type = text for book, 2D moving for DVD
- *Permanent location = Course Reserves
- Barcode = apply sticker
- *Material type = personal copy
- *Permanent loan type = on form
- Note = delete
- Save

2. Is the item a library copy or a professor's personal copy?

- Enter item barcode
- Actions > Edit
- Temporary loan type = remove
- Temporary location = remove
- Save
